CHRNCLS Civic "Hyper REV Vol. 124" 16x20 Poster

For the Civic series of the ‘Hyper REV’ tribute collection, I dived into it knowing that it would be much more work than with the Integras. There’s just so much more I could do with the Civics. Even with the EK and EG platforms alone I had endless options to create with. While I was in Japan, for whatever reason, I chose to expand it even more by adding the EF hatchback and CR-X. I think it just makes it feel more dynamic and more true to how the Hyper REV issues had it. Growing up these covers were so meaningful and the layouts were so vibrant. I wanted to make sure I not only paid proper homage with the layouts but also chose the right cars to pop beyond what the layouts were doing for the eyes…

Choosing the various Civics was difficult. I wanted it to be diverse where I could show some current builds that were recognizable, some treasures from the past and also some more obscure Civics you may have only seen glimpses of, if at all. The hardest part was recreating the wheels. Those after all are kind of what separates specific builds from others. Some I just haven’t been able to create faithful versions of, like the MF10. That’s why you don’t see it on these prints. Someday I will figure it out. As for the minor details of the cars, I am a real stickler for even the most minute of details so I tried to include as much as I could. Obviously there are some liberties taken. The JUN EKs for example left a lot on the table for what they could actually look like so I ‘finished’ them in my eyes had they not been limited to a ‘giveaway’ budget…

Hopefully these recreations make sense and are instantly recognizable. I know some you may not know. If you recognize all of them, congrats, you are a nerd like me. And for those wondering, yes they will become shirts as well. I loved how the Integra shirts came out so it’s a must.
